SCHOLARSHIP REDEMPTION INSTRUCTIONS

I Got a Scholarship - How do I redeem it?

You have until December 31 of the year you received your scholarship to claim your scholarship. If this presents a challenge, please contact us at the email address below. 

Your scholarship must be sent directly to a school institution. In order for us to process your award, please submit the following information:

  • A copy of your college fee statement/account summary (or other document resembling a bill that shows a tuition balance due). Your name must be pre-printed on it by the university. See NOTE below for additional guidance and unacceptable documents.

  • Your name and student ID number printed on a school document (if not already printed on college fee statement above)

  • Your school’s payment mailing address

Please submit the above information via email (a PDF or screenshot of the statement) to: jamie.hopkins@eaganfoundation.org (this is our preferred method). Alternatively, you may mail the information to:

*NOTE: The only acceptable documents are an account summary or fee statement (screenshots from student’s online account are acceptable as long as they contain all the relevant details). Fee statements are usually issued after registration in the late summer.

Unacceptable documents include:  

  • estimated budget sheet

  • financial aid award letter

  • acceptance letter

  • cost of attendance summary

FAQs

Q: Can my scholarship funds be used to reimburse an individual that has already paid my tuition?
A: No. Due to tax law, your scholarship funds must be distributed to an educational institution.

Q: What if I have a full scholarship this year but could use the funds next year?
A: We will work with you. Email us and let us know your circumstances.

Q: What if my plans have changed and I will not be starting until next semester or next year?
A: We will work with you. Email us and let us know your circumstances.
