Interested in Serving as a Board Member?

Eagan Foundation has a “working board” whose members serve on one or more committees that support the strategic goals of the organization.  The highlights:

  • New board term will begin in September/October
  • Board meetings are monthly on the 2nd Thursday at 5:30 PM
  • Average monthly time commitment ranges from 5 to 15 hours a month, depending on the season and the committee(s) you serve on (the average time commitment 12 hours a month)
  • A board terms is 3 years. You may serve up to 3 terms (9 years total)
  • Qualified candidates either work in or live in Eagan

  • Note: If you have a senior high school student, they would not be eligible for an Eagan Foundation scholarship while you are serving on the board
  • Youth Members: Each year two youth members also serve on the board (in two year terms – Sophomore and Junior years). Members typically come from EHS-Interact or other community service groups.

The Eagan Foundation is looking for individuals who have expertise in a variety of areas including:

  • Law
  • Finance (CPA or QuickBooks™ experience an asset)
  • Human Resources
  • Information Technology – especially web development and maintenance
  • Organizational Governance
  • Event Planning
  • Marketing and Public Relations
  • Fundraising

Eagan Foundation invites applications from qualified individuals representing the diversity of the Greater Eagan Area, and would be particularly interested in those who have experience as a staff or board member within a non-profit organization.

Founded in 1990, the Eagan Foundation is a community building non-profit that invests in the future of Eagan by providing community connections, grants, and scholarships.  Each year the Eagan Foundation administers and awards scholarships to over 100 high school seniors who reside in or attend Eagan High School.  In 2017, the foundation awarded over 130,000 in scholarships to 121 local students.  In addition, Eagan Foundation’s Community Grants and Initiatives Program provides funding and support to non-profit organizations serving Eagan; the foundation awarded $13,000 to local community organizations in 2017.

The programs of the Eagan Foundation are supported by donations from individuals, local businesses, and family foundations.  In addition, the Eagan Foundation hosts an annual fundraising gala. The Eagan Foundation continues to grow, and it serves an important role in the community by investing in the future of Eagan and meeting community needs.
