| Applications for the
Eagan Foundation Community Grants Program
are now being accepted. Community
organizations are encouraged to submit grant
proposals to fund Eagan-based initiatives. |

Fast Facts
- Since 1991, the
Eagan Foundation has contributed more
than $800,000 to the Eagan community
through student scholarships, local
initiatives and community grants.
- The Eagan
Foundation Community Grants Program is
intended to directly benefit the Eagan
Community.
- Grants are
awarded only to non-profit
organizations, although an organization
need not be formally incorporated of for
general community benefit purposes.
- The grant is to
pay for things, not time or people.
- Typically,
grants are $1,000 or less.

Grant applications
are due Friday, February 24, 2012 and can be
mailed to Eagan Foundation, c/o Community
Grants committee, P.O. Box 211192, Eagan MN
55121. Awards will be announced in March
2012. |

Community Grant Recipients |

In 2010-2011, the
Eagan Foundation awarded nearly $10,000 to
10 non-profit organizations that serve the
Eagan Community in a variety of ways. The
recipients were:
- Caponi
Art Park – funds supported the
Caponi Art Park’s 2011 Summer
Performance and Family Fun Tuesdays
series by enhancing arts learning and
cultural opportunities at the events for
people of all ages and backgrounds in
the Eagan community.
- Cheerful
Givers – funds helped purchase
birthday gift bags, toys and treats so
that community members needing the
services of local shelters and food
shelves could also provide gifts to
their children on their special day.
- Deerwood
Elementary – funds provided
equipment so that Deerwood Elementary
students could participate in a new
Junior FIRST (Foundation for Inspiration
and Recognition of Science and
Technology) Lego League and develop
skills such as research, critical
thinking, construction, teamwork and
imagination
- Eagan
High School – funds provided
equipment to assist English Language
Learner (ELL) students at Eagan High
School (representing seven countries) in
reading and enhancing their English
language vocabulary.
- Eagan
Lioness & Eagan American Legion Post 594
– funds helped complete a military
statue to be erected as part of the
Eagan Tribute & Memorial Plaza honoring
local Armed Forces, police and
firefighter heroes.
- Eagan
Young Life – funds provided
scholarships to help defray the costs
for underprivileged Eagan middle and
high school students to attend summer
camp.
- Eagan’s
July 4th Fun Fest Committee –
funds improved the success of the Fun
Fest by creating a volunteer training
and recruitment program.
- Friends
of the Farm – funds built an
accessible ramp to enable people with
disabilities to enjoy activities offered
at Holtz Farm in Eagan.
- Kids ‘n
Kinship – funds offset activity
costs for local volunteer mentors and
their matched youth to participate in a
variety of events to help in the
building of positive relationships.

Southwest Area YMCA – funds
helped provide financial support to
youth of School District 196 families
experiencing hardship so that they could
attend Southwest Area YMCA’s before
and/or after school programs in 2011.
